If you are running advertisements, or are thinking about it, there are a million different strategies and tactics out there. Despite which method you use, there are a few basic things you should remember. Below is a list of things to keep in mind when
- Ensure you are running ads where your ideal customer will see them.
This sounds pretty basic but unless you really put yourself in your prospect’s shoes, you may miss them. For example, if you want patients who need emergency dental work, don’t run ads on Facebook. Because if someone needs emergency dental work they either have a dentist, or they will Google their problem. The chances of someone who needs emergency dental work finding you while scrolling through social media is slim. So it would probably be best to run your ad on Google.
- Never run advertisements that lead prospects to your full website.
If you are paying any kind of money on ads, ensure you send the prospects to a dedicated landing page that only leads to the conversion. Because when you send someone to your website, they will get distracted and lost in your fabulous content and disappear. But when you have a focused dedicated landing page, the prospect is not bombarded by a lot of pages and options and is more likely to follow the right path.
- Keep on testing.
Always monitor and tweak your ads to maximize results. This should involve running at least two different ads with slightly tweaked content or offers. You’d be surprised how much changing a little text or style can drastically alter your ads performance.
- Remember the goal.
Often people will run ads and be very happy with the amount of clicks or likes they get. They will consider the campaign a success because they got a great cost-per-click number. But they forget that you can deposit clicks or likes. Remember, it’s about conversions, not clicks (BONUS: If prospects are clicking your ad but are not converting, it’s time to really examine your page and offer. They liked you enough to go to your page but didn’t like something there)
